Rear Curtain Sync

Capturing ambient streaks of light at slow shutter speeds and then freezing the moving action with a sudden burst of flash is what rear curtain sync effects are all about.

Until recently only a few photographers had access to this kind of control, but the MultiMAX offers it as one its many features.

In rear curtain sync mode, you can delay the flash triggering time (sync) to fire the flash near the end of the exposure. Pre-Programmed shutter speeds of 1 second to 1/60th of a second make setup quick and easy.

Custom delay settings are also possible for fine-tuning the effect through the MultiMAX's delay time adjustment screen.

On a MultiMAX (set for TRANSMIT), press the Menu button.

Press A to enter the ADVANCED MENU.

Press A to enter the DELAY menu.

Press C to enter REAR CURTAIN mode.

Press the up or down arrow button to select the camera shutter speed you are using.

Press the MENU button to enter the settings and return to the main menu.

The REAR CURTAIN SYNC time will be displayed as a number.

NOTE: your screen should read DELAY: 0.1190 for 1/8 sec., not 0.5000)

Each trigger will be delayed by this time.
