Wow – we’re finally coming up for air after a couple weeks of product launch madness.  Whatever free time there has been was spent reading the blogs, chat rooms and forums about the new MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 radios and it’s been an amazing thing to see the buzz on the new product.

We’d like to thank all the photographers that have participated in our Beta program, especially Mark Wallace and Tom Munoz.  Your feedback has been invaluable to us in refining the features of the product as well as providing us with some great ideas for new features that, along with others in development, can be added via our “future proof” firmware upgrade capability.  You’ve also done your job uncovering some bugs for which we have either already found solutions to or are hard at work finding one.

Product for Canon equipment is to begin shipping to dealers this week in the United States.  It will take a while to fill the pipe but production is ramping up quickly.  Canada will see the Canon product next after we resolve a testing issue for Canadian regulatory requirements.  Assuming all goes smoothly, new product for Canon will be en route to the rest of the world some time in April.  Nikon product is tentatively scheduled for availability some time around June 1st in North America and shortly there after in other markets.

Also thanks to David Hobby at Strobist.com and Rob Galbraith for their reviews.  Both were given some product a while back and despite what some people think, we did not stuff the boxes with cash.  Several more reviews should be showing up around the web in the very near future.

Here are some other things to look for:

Videos:  We asked several high profile photographers at the WPPI show to put the product to use while we filmed away.  Starting with Hanson Fong, you’ll get to see the product in action and the resulting images.  All of these photographers had little time to get to know the product so you’ll see just how easy they are to use the first time around (OK, we were there to help but things did go very smoothly for the most part).  We hope to add one new video every week or so for the next couple months.  Go to http://www.pocketwizard.com/inspirations/profiles/

We’re also shooting several “how-to” videos that will cover the product functionality in-depth for those of you who don’t like to read manuals (which is probably all of you).   You really should read the manuals for these products but if you don’t, at least watch these visual tutorials.  The “how-to” videos will start being added to the site in mid-March.

More User Photos:  As more people get to use the product there will be more stunning images to show you.  We’ll build some galleries of the best images.  Look for a user group on your favorite photo sharing site as well.

Features:  There are a lot more new features we plan to add to the product.  We will announce them as they get through our internal testing and we’re confident they will pass Beta testing.  If you’re asking for it, we’re probably working on it and with the built in USB and the provided Utility program, updating the product to the latest features is a very simple task.  Look for separate posts for details on new features and updates in the works.

FAQ:  We will have new FAQs on the new product on the site shortly.  We will continue to add to these as needed.

Forum:  We will have a dedicated user forum on our site shortly.

There’s a lot more to come and we’re incredibly excited to get these new products to you.
