HyperSync™ or High Speed Sync Selection:  The user will have the ability to choose between PocketWizard’s HyperSync mode or the FP Sync/high-speed sync mode, at shutter speeds above 1/500.  This will allow HyperSync to work at sync speeds of 1/640 and higher that may come in handy when trying to balance or overpower outdoor ambient light.

This is an advanced feature designed for those with the ability, knowledge and time to experiment with their own camera system’s capabilities and performance will vary based on your camera and flash equipment.  More details to come.

498basic_trigger_mode_caption_cropped_resized.jpg Basic Trigger Mode:  Many photographers who don’t shoot Canon or Nikon have told us they would love the new low-profile MiniTT1 Transmitter on their cameras too.  We thought you would so we’ve been working on a simple “Basic Trigger Mode” to accomplish just that.  When selected in the provided Utility, this will convert your on-camera MiniTT1 or FlexTT5 into a more traditional PocketWizard that simply triggers the receiving end flashes.  There will be no TTL, no HyperSync, just a trigger.  This can be used on just about any camera that a current PocketWizard would work on including DSLR’s, SLR’s and medium format (focal plane or leaf shutters) camera’s.  It can be used on ALL 32 PocketWizard channels and custom ID’s will be available.

It is likely that the trigger delay time will be a bit longer than a PlusII or MultiMAX which will require a slightly lower max sync speed.  Battery life in Basic Mode on a MiniTT1 will be shorter then in ControlTL Mode, but the same on a FlexTT5.  Hot shoes on the MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 are designed for Canon and Nikon DSLR’s.  Fit into other camera’s hot shoes is not guaranteed.

Availability:  Both of these new features will be available in mid-March.  They will be delivered via the PocketWizard Utility.
