PocketWizard Launches 433MHz CE MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 for European and other International Markets

South Burlington, VT
– August 4, 2009 – Professional photographers worldwide have depended on PocketWizard wireless triggering systems for reliable performance and advanced capabilities for over two decades, capturing images that would have been impossible to make without PocketWizard. Since the introduction of PocketWizard triggers, professional photographers have demanded a TTL (Through-The-Lens) flash PocketWizard system. Now, with the rapid development of digital technology, PocketWizard responds with a simple solution for off-camera TTL flash without limitations or complexity. PocketWizard has made it possible with “Slide-n-Shoot” simplicity by utilizing their new ControlTL™ system featuring the MiniTT1™ Transmitter and FlexTT5™ Transceiver dedicated for Canon camera/flash systems (Nikon i-TTL international version due early 2010). These new E-TTL II capable PocketWizard wireless radios provide effortless off-camera flash photography.

Photographers can use the new MiniTT1 Transmitter and FlexTT5 Transceiver to control single or multiple off-camera flash units at speeds up to 6/fps. These radios interpret the complex TTL data communicated through the camera’s hot shoe and digitally transmits the information through a reliable radio signal. Photographers can now place TTL or manual flash units anywhere they need to illuminate a scene even, even out of sight or in bright sun. Each flash unit is connected to a dedicated FlexTT5 Transceiver for wireless TTL operation; there are no wires or connecting cables required. Any change in ISO, aperture, shutter speed and even flash compensation is automatically communicated and adjusted wirelessly.

The new MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 are compatible with any other 433MHz PocketWizard for triggering manual flash units or remote cameras. In addition, a E-TTL flash can be triggered along with manual flash for total flexibility. These new PocketWizard products are the beginning of the next generation of wireless remote control technology empowered by the sophisticated ControlTL system. Designed from the ground up, ControlTL utilizes the latest in digital camera technology to offer break-through solutions, including:

• E-TTL II Capability: Now you have the freedom of TTL control without the limitation of infrared.

• Power Tracking: The system automatically adjusts for changes in shutter speed, f-stops, ISO settings and flash compensation when working in E-TTL mode.

• Manual Power Control: Wirelessly adjust manual power settings of your remote flash units, in up to three independent zones (A, B or C).

• HyperSync™: Overcome impossible camera limitations. HyperSync enables photographers toachieve sync speeds up to 1/500 second with speed-lights and up to 1/8000 second with certaincameras and flash systems. Photographers can now use flash with wider apertures for shallow depth of field shots, control back light levels outdoors and capture new creative images never before possible.

• Optimized HSS: If you need faster sync speeds with Speedlites, push beyond standard sync and go into HSS Speed Synch mode automatically. PocketWizard has optimized this great feature so you get more light, faster recycling and more shots per battery with Canon’s High Speed Sync mode. Now you can take advantage of shooting with wider apertures in full sun with remote Speedlite flash.

• Basic Trigger Mode: The MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 can work as a basic trigger on any camera or flash.

• Frames Per Second: Shoot continuously with remote E-TTL flash at over 6 Frames Per Second (fps).

• Low Profile Design: The MiniTT1 Transmitter is a tiny low-profile unit (7.1cm x 4.8cm x 3.3cm) that slides into the camera’s hot shoe. The FlexTT5 Transceiver is also low-profile (9.1cm x 7.4cm x 3.6cm) and can trigger flash, cameras or both simultaneously. Both radios feature an integrated hot shoe.

• Radio Communication: Shoot through walls, around corners, in bright sun at longer range withPocketWizard radio technology.

• PocketWizard Compatible: The MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 are part of the PocketWizard Wireless Freedom System and are fully compatible with Sekonic wireless meters, Dynalite, Profoto, Bowens, Lumidyne, Photogenic and Norman flash systems that incorporate PocketWizard 433MHz CE approved frequency built-in.

• Programmable and Upgradeable: As digital technology advances, more capabilities will be added to the system, offering essentially “future proof” technology. Appling these enhancements is a mouse click away; by using the free PocketWizard Utility software (MAC or PC), you can easily configure the radios to your specific needs or get the latest features and upgrades using an internet connection.
