MultiMAX
The most advanced Wireless Triggering System available. If your needs go beyond simple triggering, the MultiMAX is for you.
MultiMAX Transceiver Advanced Communications Features:
- Thirty-two, 16-bit channels - Trigger individual or groups of lights and/or cameras simultaneously or individually. Critical to working in crowded venues or with multiple lighting set-ups.
- Selective Quad-Triggering - Activate or deactivate electronic flash units and/or cameras wirelessly in 4 separately controllable zones (ABCD) without leaving the camera position - audible and visual confirmation.
- Relay Mode - Acts as a transmitter and receiver, triggering both camera and flash from up to 1600 feet away. Upon receiving a signal from a remote transmitter, the on-camera receiver instantaneously switches to transmit mode and signals the remote flash units to fire in sync with the remote camera.
- True Trigger Confirmation - Verifies each successful triggering and indicates misfires via audio and/or visual confirmation signals. No separate transmitter/receiver system can do this.
- Product Compatibility - PocketWizard MultiMAX communicates with all PocketWizard-enabled photo gear including select Profoto, Dynalite, Norman and Photogenic flash and select Sekonic light meters.
MultiMAX Transceiver Time Control Features:
- Rear-curtain Sync - Capture ambient streaks of light at slow shutter speeds, even for cameras without this feature. Delay the sync time to fire the electronic flash unit near the end of the exposure, with precision of 1/10,000th of a second. Includes pre-programmed shutter speeds of 1 to 1/60th of a second, with additional setting configurable via the MultiMax's delay time adjustment screen.
- Intervalometer - Perform time-lapse imaging and photograph events as they unfold. Capture up to 10,000 exposures over a time period of approximately 18 hours using the integrated intervalometer.
- Multi-pop shooting - Adds depth-of-field to images or generates stroboscopic motion images. Allows your flash to be fired up to 10,000 times on the same exposure while waiting for a user programmed recycle time, from 1/100th to 10 minutes, between pops.
- Precision Delay Times - Custom set in transmit mode for remote units and/or port 2 on the MultiMAX. In receiver mode, precision delay offers delay sequencing or camera/flash synchronization.
- SpeedCycler - Perform sequential triggering for up to 4 cameras or 4 electronic flash units. Ideal for multi-angle camera shots, and reducing recycle time in fast paced photo shoots, by triggering the next flash in line, while the previous flash is charging. With 4 PocketWizard MultiMax transceivers connected to 4 cameras, the SpeedCycler mode can quadruple frames-per-second firing speed.
- Lag Time Equalizer Software - Measures reaction time between camera trigger signal to shutter firing. This lag time is used to synchronize single or multiple cameras and strobes to fire in unison, with measurable accuracy to 1/10,000th of a second.
- Ultra-fast Microprocessors - Achieve trigger-response times as short as 1/3000th of a second for reliable top-end sync speeds of 1/500th for focal plane shutters and 1/1000th for leaf shutters.
MultiMAX Transceiver General Features:
- Fast set-up - Simply power up, choose a channel, connect a flash cable and start shooting.
- User Interface - Easy-to-read LCD display and rubberized keypad allows quick setting adjustments and confirmation of camera and flash status. Display and buttons can be backlit with the push of a button. Locking keypad eliminates unintended setting changes. Default settings can be quickly restored.
- Trigger Rate - Trigger lights or cameras at a sustained rate of up to 12 fps; faster than the best DSLR today.
- Size - Durable, compact design with an unobtrusive, rubberized antenna. The total height of the transceiver and antenna is less than 6.5", and it weighs in at 6oz including batteries.
- Compatibility - Compatible with virtually every popular flash and professional camera. Available miniphone connector cables support all major brands of lighting equipment in lengths up to 16'. A variety of dedicated camera triggering cables are also available.
- Power Supply - 2 AA batteries, with a typical life of approximately 60 hours. An optional AC adapter is available.
- Frequency - US PocketWizard transceivers operate on an uncrowded frequency of 344 MHz. See product spec's for frequencies in other countries.
- Mounting - A sturdy lock-ring for hot shoes ensure a secure fit to your camera or bracket or use the ¼ 20 mount or lanyard.
